Dhaka – The seven-day Income Tax Fair, arranged to motivate people to pay taxes regularly, ended on Sunday posting a collection of Tk 1117.43 crore from taxpayers.
Some 12,337 new taxpayers have been registered during the period while some 1,32,017 income tax returns submitted during the period, said a
PID handout.
A total of 510,145 taxpayers availed themselves of the service during weeklong Income Tax Fair as they found it hassle free one.
A cultural show was arranged on the concluding day where Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Finance Ministry AHM Mostafa Kamal was present as the chief guest.
Officials said the fair which was arranged in Dhaka, other divisional cities and 54 district towns drew huge crowds. – UNB
