PM attends iftar at Senakunja

Bangladesh Armed Forces on Wednesday jointly hosted an iftar party in honour of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Senakunja in the Dhaka Cantonment.Before joining iftar, the Prime Minister went round different tables set for the members of the armed forces and other dignitaries, exchanged greetings and enquired about their well-being.
PM’s son and eminent computer scientist Sajib Wazed Joy accompanied her when she exchanged pleasantries with the guests.
Before the iftar, a special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for the development and advancement of the armed forces as well as continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.
Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other victims of the August 15 massacre, martyrs of the War of Liberation and martyred members of the armed forces.
Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Chief Justice Mohammad Muzammel Hossain, Deputy Leader of Parliament Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad, Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Planning Minister AK Khandkar, Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, Law Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Textiles and Jute Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui, Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Post and Telecommunications Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun and  Industries Minister Dilip Barua attended the iftar party, among others.
Besides, Labour and Employment Minister Raziuddin Ahmed Razu, Land Minister Rezaul Karim Hira, Environment and Forests Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Prime Minister’s Defense Adviser Maj Gen (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, Economic Affairs Advisor Dr Moshiur Rahman, State Minister for Home Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku, Workers Party president Rashed Khan Menon, MP, Chief of Army Staff Gen Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan, Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral M Farid Habib, acting Chief of Air Staff Air-Vice Marshal Abu Esrar, Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division Lt Gen Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Haque, US Ambassador to Bangladesh Dan W Mozena, members  of parliament, UGC chairman Dr AK Azad Chowdhury, diplomats and high civil and military officials were also present.
Earlier, on her arrival at Senakunja, the Prime Minister was received by PM’s Defense Adviser Maj Gen (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, chiefs of the three services and the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division. – UNB
