PM flies to Saudi Arabia Tuesday

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leaves here for Riyadh on Tuesday afternoon on a four-day bilateral visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.

A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage will depart from Hazrat Shajalal International Airport at 3:30 pm.

The flight is scheduled to reach King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh at 7:00pm (local time) on Tuesday.During her stay in Riyadh, the Prime Minister will have a meeting with the leaders of Council of Saudi Chamber (CSC) and Riyadh Chamber of Commerce at her place of residence on Wednesday morning.

She will have a meeting King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz al Saud at his royal palace on Wednesday afternoon that will be followed by lunch.

Sheikh Hasina will then hold a meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prince Mohammad Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz. She will later inaugurate Bangladesh Chancery building at the Diplomatic Quarters, Riyadh.

The Prime Minister will depart Riyadh for Madinah by air at 7:30 pm (local time) and reach Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport, Madinah at 9 pm (local time).

She will offer ziarat at the Rowza Mobarak of Holy Prophet (PBUH) at Masjid Al-Nabawi on Wednesday night.
On Thursday, the Prime Minister will leave Madinah for Jeddah by air and reach King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah at 11:15 am (local time).

She will lay the foundation stone of Chancery building of Bangladesh Consulate General in Jeddah at noon.
The Prime Minister will perform Umrah after Esha prayers on Thursday. She will also offer prayers at Masjid Al Haram in Mekkah.

On Friday, Sheikh Hasina will depart King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah for home in the early hours and reach Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:45am (local time).

During the Prime Minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia will sign two documents on defence and ICT cooperation, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali said while briefing reporters over the visit on Monday.

Sharing titles of the deals, he said these are MoU on Defence Cooperation between Bangladesh and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and MoU on Cooperation in ICT sector.

Sheikh Hasina will highlight Bangladesh’s socioeconomic development to the Saudi government during her visit, said the Foreign Minister.

Mahmood Ali said a number of MoUs — both in public and private sectors — are likely to be signed during the visit.
