President, PM, Khaleda congratulate India’s new president

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have greeted Ram Nath Kovind on being elected the President of India.“I firmly believe that the ties of friendship and cooperation, which so happily exist between our two countries, will further be widened and deepened under your able presidency,” the President said in his congratulatory message to the India’s new President.

Hamid said the extremely friendly engagements over the last several years have given a strong dynamism to the bilateral relations.“I also take this opportunity, Excellency, to extend to you my most cordial invitation to visit Bangladesh at your earliest convenience,” he said.

In her message, the Prime Minister said, “We continue to look forward to working closely with the government of India in elevating our multifarious relations further in order to achieve common prosperity for our peoples.”She noted with satisfaction that Dhaka and New Delhi have taken their bilateral relations to a new height drawing strength from cultural and historical relations.Extending her heartiest congratulations, Hasina warmly invited the newly-elected Indian president to visit Bangladesh at his convenience, according to Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi.
