Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakib Uddin Ahmed will hold a meeting with Speaker over the election of president within Sunday.Election Commissioner M Shahnewaz came up with the disclosure while talking to journalists at his office in the city on Wednesday.
He said, “EC will fix presidential poll date after consultation with acting speaker colonel (retd) Shawkat Ali through direct or letter.
As per section 123 (2) to the constitution, the president election should be held within 90 days after president’s death, resign or impeachment.
Presently, Speaker of the Parliament Abdul Hamid is performing the duties as president from March 10.
