Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu today told the parliament that the Government has taken all necessary measures to bring back Noor Hossain, prime suspect of Narayanganj seven-murder case, to Bangladesh.
“Process to bring back Noor Hossain is underway,” he told this in reply to a supplementary question of opposition lawmaker Peer Fazlur Rahman during the question and answer session in the House.Amir Hossain Amu, in absence of Asaduzzaman Khan, was answering to all the questions in the JS today.
Responding to a written question of lawmaker AKM Maidul Islam, the minister informed that a total 549 citizens of India, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nepal, Peru, Algeria, Cameroon, Nigeria, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand and Sri Lanka are in prisons in Bangladesh till November 1 this year.
“Of them, 76 foreign nationals are convicts on charges of different criminals cases and the cases of 393 people remain under trial while rest of 80 foreigners are waiting for their return homes as they were released earlier,” he added. – BSS
