Produce building, garments owners on Apr 30: HC

The High Court ordered Officer-in-Charge of Savar Thana to produce owners of Rana Plaza and five RMG factories before the court on April 30.An HC bench comprising Justice Mirza Hossain Hyder and Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar passed the suo-moto order on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, a writ was filed with HC seeking its order to arrest owners of the Rana Plaza building and five garment factories within 24-hour of the Savar building collapse that claimed 178 lives.
A journalist named Nazim Ahmed filed the writ petition.
The petitioner also sought the court directives to form a judicial probe body to look into the incident and provide better treatment to the injured.
Supreme Court lawyer Dr Yunus Ali Akand filed the petition on behalf of the petitioner.
