Quota, safe road protests: Shujan for students freedom

Expressing deep concern at the arrest and harassment of the students during the movements for quota reform and safe roads, Shushashoner Jonno Nagorik (Shujan) on Saturday demanded release of the students.

“We are noticing with concern that, the students who led the two movements are being arrested and harassed in different ways”, claimed Shujan in a press statement adding that so far 99 were arrested in 52 cases for alleged involvement in violence and provocation during the safe road movements.

As a result, their parents are passing their days worrying about the security and future of the students, said Shujan in the statement.

The organization also claimed that no action has been taken against those who attacked the students and journalists during the movement.

Mentioning the two movements as logical, Shujan also condemned the arrest and harassment of the students and demanded unconditional release of the arrested students.
