Dhaka – The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka yesterday deferred the submission of the report in the case filed over operation at a militant den in the capital's Kalyanpur to November 12.Magistrate Mazharul Haque fixed the date as Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case and also Inspector (Investigation) of Counter Terrorism unit, failed to submit the investigation report on Wednesday.
Police conducted a night long drive on a five-storey building known as ‘Zahaj Building’ at Road No.5 of Kalyanpur area on July 25 last year, leaving nine suspected militants dead. Besides, police arrested one Hassan with bullet-injury and another fled the scene. They all were reportedly members of the Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
Two days’ after the operation, Mirpur Model Police Station Inspector Md Shah Jalal Alam filed the case accusing 9 persons under the Counter-Terrorism Act. – Special Correspondent
