Return Salahuddin or produce him before court: Khaleda

Bnp chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday asked the government either to return Salahuddin to his family or produce him before the court without wasting any more time.
She made the call when Hasina Ahmed, wife of BNP joint secretary Salahuddin Ahmed, who has been untraced since March 10 after he was reportedly taken away by people identifdying themselves as plainclothes police from his hideout at Uttara, called on her at Gulshan office yesterday.Hasina Ahmed accompanied by her two children—a son and a daughter went to Khaleda’s office at 7:45pm and stayed with the former premier for over an hour.
She told reporters that during the meeting the BNP chairperson comforted the children and their mother.
Meanwhile, anguish and dismay intensified among the wife and children of Salahuddin as eight days elapsed siknce his disappearance.
“Passing of every minute is prolonging our pain as we are yet to know any information about his whereabouts. My four sons and daughters beg to prime minister—let my children just know—their father is unhurt and safe no matter wherever he has been kept,” Hasina Ahmed told reporters.
Sheexpressed her deep concern as law enforcers so far failed to provide information about her husband.
“Produce him before the court if Salahuddin was arrested on any charge,” a crying Hasina Ahmed appealed to the Prime Minister. – Staff Reporter
