Salahuddin’s wife seeks the intervention of Prime Minister

8 days after the “disappearance” of her husband BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed, his wife Hasina Ahmed has sought the intervention of the Prime Minister to get him back.
On Tuesday afternoon, a delegation of the University Teachers’ Association of Bangladesh (UTAB) led by its president Prof AFM Yusuf Haider saw Hasina Ahmed at her Gulshan residence and told this to reporters.‘My husband has been missing for eight days. We spend each day in extremely uncomfortable conditions. Oh, get back my husband I shall go to the Prime Minister soon in search of a missing husband’, the former MP Hasina Ahmed said
Since the disappearance of her husband no food is cooked in the house. Home-cooked meals being sent by relatives and friends.
She said, if my husband has committed any crime, then produce him before a trial court.
She complained, she does not get law enforcement agencies’ cooperation. In these 8 days only on Monday, a sub-inspector of police has seen her. She called upon the people and civil society groups to stand beside her husband.
At around 4pm Professor Yusuf Haider, Professor Barua, Professor Hasan Morshed Khan went to Gulshan Road No. 7 residence of Salahuddin Ahmed’s wife to express sympathy to the family. They inquired about the family members.
Prof Yousuf Haider expressed his concern at the disappearance of Salahuddin Ahmed and said, I am outraged. It was dreadful. This is not acceptable in any civilised country that a man who had been an MP and a minister can not be found. We ask the government quickly find and return him to his family. Salahuddin Ahmed is a brilliant student, brilliant administrator and a good politician. Civil rights organisations and citizens should be vocal, he said.
Notably, on the night of March 10 BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed was picked up from a house in Uttara by members of law enforcing agencies. However, the government or security forces have not confirmed his arrest. – News Desk
