Dhaka – The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Wednesday expressed deep concern at the ongoing torture and murder in the Rakhine State of Myanmar.In the joint-statement, SCBA President Joynul Abedin and Secretary Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon urged upon the law enforcing agencies to give shelter to fleeing Rohingya Muslims. They said that these innocent and helpless people were compelled to leave their homes in Myanmar as security forces set their homes on fire, drive them away and shoot at them indiscriminately.
The SCBA leaders also said in their statement that on the torture of Myanmar Government forces, Rohingya Muslims- men, women and children have been passing days in serious uncertainties on a vast area of Naf river in search of safe shelter. The scenery is inhuman and heart-rendering, the added.
The two lawyer leaders urged upon the Government to send the wretched people- the pushed-in Rohingya nationals back to their homes safely resolving the inhuman crisis through discussion with the Myanmar Government. They further said, very attempts should be made to save the lives and properties of the tortured people. – Special Correspondent
