A schoolgirl was killed by some unknown miscreants at Bhuabaria
village in Sadar upazila early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Arpita Rani Das, 12, a student of class
IV of Bhuabaria government primary school and daughter of Swapan Chandra Das of the village.
Family members of the deceased said Arpita went missing since she went
to a grocery shop on Friday afternoon. Later, local people found her body floating
in a pond near her home and informed police.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar
hospital morgue for Abdur Razzaque Khan, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said
the victim might have been killed after rape.
