Seed distributed at BAU

High yield variety of rice seeds and sewing machine were distributed to female farmers at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensing on Friday.
BINA-11 and BINA-12 dhan of Aman rice variety distributed at free of cost under project ‘Production and dissemination of short duration stress tolerant rice varieties to the farmers of Bangladesh’ funded by Ministry of Science and Technology at the Teachers conference room of the University.

Vice-chancellor Prof Dr. Ali Akbar attended the programme as chief guest while Prof Dr. Jasimuddin khan, Students affair adviser, Dr. Shamsar Ali, BINA Director general as special guest, Andrea B. Bhon, associate director, INGENAES, University of Illinois, USA as honorable guest, Prof Dr. Lutful Hasan, principal scientist of the project, Prof Dr Shahnaz Parvin, director of BAUEC presented at the programme.
In the programme, about 100 female farmers received rice seeds of BINA-11 dhan enriched with Iron and BINA-12 dhan enriched with folic acid and also 4 female farmers received sewing machine for developing themselves economically. – BAU Correspondent
