A septuagenarian man was chopped to death by a miscreant over previous enmity at
Nowdagram Bazar in Sadar upazila of Jessore district last night.
The deceased was identified as Altaf Hossain, 70, of Nowdagram village under the
upazila.
Police and locals sources said one Firoz, inhabitant of Kashimpur village, stabbed
Hossain with sharp weapons while he was taking tea at a stall in the bazar at around
8:00pm.
Locals rushed him to Jessore 250-bed Hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead.
Police sent the body to hospital morgue for post-mortem.
A murder case was filed with the concerned thana in this connection.- BSS, Jessore
