Shahidul Haque new IGP, Benazir Rab DG

In a major reshuffle in the police administration, the government has made AKM Shahidul Haque new Inspector General of Police.
Shahidul Haque who was serving as the additional IGP (Admin) at the Police Headquarters replaced Hassan Mahmood Khandker after over four years.
Besides, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Benazir Ahmed has been made Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) while Deputy Inspector General (Highway) Asaduzzaman Miah replaced Benazir.Meanwhile, chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) additional IGP Mokhlesur Rahman has been transferred to the Police Headquarters, said Senior Secretary Mozammel Haque Khan of the Home Ministry.
The Home Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Tuesday.
The reshuffle is part of a regular process as Hassan Mahmood and Rab DG Mokhlesur Rahman are going to retirement, said the secretary. – Agencies
