A shopkeeper was chopped to death by some miscreants at Magura village under Abhaynagar upazila of the district last night.
The deceased was identified as Iqbal Hossain, 28, son of Ramjan Ali of the same area.Police sources said, some miscreants chopped Iqbal with sharp weapons to death while he was returning home from his Magura Bazar shop at around 9pm.On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Jessore 250-bed hospital morgue.Officer-in-charge of Abhaynagar Thana Kazi Abdus Salek said Iqbal might have killed over previous enmity.A murder case was filed with Abhaynagar Thana in this connection. –BSS, Jesore
