Six hurt in Chittagong crude bomb blast

Six people were injured in a crude bomb blast in the city’s Boxirhat area on Monday night.
The identities of the injured could not be known immediately.
Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Mohammad Jasim Uddin said two crude bombs were hurled at the mouth of Hazari lane in the area around 9:30pm.Six pedestrians suffered injuries from splinters as the bombs went off with big bang, he said.
The injured were first taken to a local hospital from where three of them were shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. The rest were discharged after first aid.
The crude bombs might have been thrown from the rooftop of nearby restaurant ‘Medina Hotel’, the OC said, adding that they arrested two people from the rooftop suspecting their involvement in the incident. – UNB
