Rajshahi, March 23 – The Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has taken a decision to provide special security to 12 threatened teachers of Rajshahi University (RU) following the incident of attack on Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) teacher Prof. Zafar Iqbal.They deployed police personnel for 12 teachers of theUniversity to ensure their security.
RMP commissioner Mahbubur Rahman said the decision for providing security to the teachers has been taken as some of them received threats from different militant organizations.
The 12 teachers are noted writer and former teacher of RU Hasan Azizul Haque, Prof. Abul Kashem, Assistant Professor Golam Sarwar, Prof. Hasan Imam, Prof. Mohammad Mizanuddin, Prof. Moloy Kumar Bhoumik, Prof. SM Abu Bakar, Prof. Sarker Sujit Kumar, Prof. Sajedequl Arefin Matin, Prof Hasibul Alam, Assistant Prof. Salim Reza Newton and Amirul Islam Kanak.
