Stabbed Risha died after struggling 4 days at DMCH

Dhaka-After struggling with stab injuries for four days, Suraya Akhter Risha, an eight grader student of Willes Little Flower School and College died yesterday at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).The 14 year old girl was stabbed by a stalker in Dhaka’s Kakrail area in August 24. She breathed her last in the intensive care unit around 8:30am yesterday
Risha was the daughter of cable trader Ramjan Ali who has been living with his family in Bangshal of old Dhaka.
According to the eyewitnesses, on last Wednesday, Risha, after finishing her school exam at around 12:30 pm, climbed on to the over bridge in front of her school to cross the road. As soon as she reached the middle of the bridge, she was stabbed by unknown miscreants for several times.
Critically injured, she was left there at the over-bridge for some times. Late some other students and guardians from the schools took her to the DMCH. She was admitted there immediately.
It was known from her family that Risha was being stalked for some times by Obaed, a staff of a tailor shop in Eastern Mollika where she used to give her cloths for sewing.
Risha had earlier given her mobile number to the tailor shop. Obaed used to call in that number and tried to talk with her but Risha refused to do so. Later, Obaed even tried to harass Risha in front of her school, Risha’s classmates confirmed.
Risha’s family filed a case against in Ramna thana against Obaed.
Ramna police station Officer-in-Charge Moshiur Rahman said they have already traced the stalker and drives are on to arrest him.-STAFF REPORTER
