Mastermind Tamim financed for Holy Artisan attack: DMP

Dhaka-Additional Police Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Monirul Islam yesterday claimed that mastermind Tamim Chowdhury provided all the finance in the Holy Artisan Restaurant in city’s Gulshan on July 1.While addressing at a press conference at DMP Media Center, the chief of the Counter Terrorism and Transitional Crime Unit of DMP made the remark.
He claimed that the militant started planning from April to carry out Gulshan attack.
During the planning, they finalized who will bring the arms, who will provide finance, who will take part in the attack and who will circulate the news of the attack, the top DMP official said.
The militants had to expense huge amount of money to make the militant attack a successful and all thise money were collected by Tamim from different people and international quarters, he added.
We have also identified another eight to ten militant suspect, he said adding that police also identified some of the persons who provide arms and money to the militants.
We hope they will be arrested son, Monirul vowed.
About another mastermind Nurul Islam Marzan, the CTTC boss said, basically he coordinates militancy through different apps.
He is very clever and talent.
He is very skilled in English and Arabic language
All militants of the New JMB honour him because of his talent, the official said.
All the three militants, including Tamim Chowdhury, his aids Tausif Hasan and Kazi Fazle Rabbi, who were killed during a special police operation in Narayanganj on Saturday , died from bullet wounds.
Dr Sohel Mahmud, assistant professor of Forensic Department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, said the three militants sustained bullet wounds in their heads.
However, on Saturday police hinted that the two aids of Tamim might have been killed in grenade blast.-Staff Reporter
