Stocks maintain uptrend on higher transactions

Stocks maintained upward trend on Wednesday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges were found finishing upward trend with higher transactions of some large-cap securities.

The trade value at the DSE increased to Taka 456.43 crore from the previous session’s Taka 382.29 crore and the trade volume also rose to 9.59 crore from 7.80 crore shares of Tuesday’s trading.

The broader DSEX index of the DSE closed the day with 51.96 points up at 5,398.76. The Shariah DSES and the blue-Chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 2.85 points up at 1,245.90 and 13.12 points up at 1,993.55
respectively.

At the DSE, out of the day’s 336 securities, prices of 177 securities closed higher against 104 losing issues.

The major gaining issues were BD Auto Cares, Aman Feed, Rupali Bank,Northern Jute and DSHGARME. The major losing issues were INTRACO, MBL1STMF,Dhaka Insurance, ADVENT and Continental Insurance.

AIL topped the turnover list followed by Beximco, KPCL, Monno Ceramics and BERGERPBL.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 139.76 points up at 16622.17.

A total of 222 issues were traded at the CSE today while 118 closed higher against 68 lower and 50.85 lakh shares worth Taka 17.91 crore changed hands.
