Robbers looted valuables, including cash and gold, from a stone trader’s house in Jalalabad area of the city on early Thursday.
Police said a gang of robbers stormed the house of stone trader Abdul Motin in the area around 3.00am by breaking open the door and held the house inmates hostage at gunpoint.
They looted five talas of gold ornaments, Tk two lakh and other valuables from the house.
Being resisted, the handlooms hit Matin’s wife Saima Begum.
Gausul Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jalalabad police station, confirmed the incident.
