Sylhet BCL activist stabbed by rivals

A Chhatra League activist at Sylhet International University was stabbed by rivals on Monday.The victim was identified as Akhlak Hossain Shakil, a BBA student of Sylhet International University, also
an activist of the ruling Awami League-backed student organisation, campus
sources said. The sources in the fellow students said BCL activists attacked
Shakil in front of the university main entrance at Shamimabad in the city at the
noon and left him seriously injured.
Hearing scream, fellow students came forward to help and took him to Sylhet Osmani Medical College,
sources said.
SIU Proctor Bashir Ahmed told journalists that the incident took place out of the university campus. ‘Step
would be taken against the students involved in the attack if the allegation is proved true,’ he added, saying that the victim was sent to the hospital in a
serious condition.
Sylhet Kotwali police officer-in-charge told The New Nation that they visited the spot after the
incident.
