A court here on Monday placed Sylhet city unit Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer, who was arrested on charge of planning to carry out sabotage, on a 5-day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Kumer Dey passed the order when Uttar (West) police station officer-in-charge sought 10-day remand producing the Jamaat leader before the court.
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested Ehsan Mahbub Jubayer, also a member of central committee of Jamaat-e-Islami, from the capital’s Uttara area early Sunday.
He was wanted in 16 cases filed with Airport and Kotwali police stations of Sylhet. UNB
