Taranco holds meeting with Pankaj Saran

Dhaka – UN Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs Oscar Fernández Taranco on Sunday evening met Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pankaj Saran.UN Resident Coordinator in Dhaka Neal Walker was present at the meeting held at Indian High Commission in Dhaka that lasted for nearly an hour, diplomatic sources said.
However, the content of the meeting could not be known.
Earlier in the morning, US Ambassador Dan Mozena held a meeting with Pankaj Saran at the latter’s office. The meeting started at about 10am.
Meanwhile, Taranco held an unscheduled meeting with Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi at the Prime Minister’s Office soon after his (Taranco) meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad.
On Saturday, the UN team had a breakfast meeting at German House where it held talks with German Ambassador in Dhaka Dr Albrecht Conze, British High Commissioner Robert Gibson, Canadian High Commissioner Heather Cruden and ambassadors to the European Union and China William Hanna and Li Jun respectively.
Taranco also held meeting with US Ambassador in Dhaka at Sonargaon Hotel on Saturday. – UNB
