Tarique’s legal notice to Quamrul

Opposition BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman on Monday sent a legal notice to State Minister for Law Quamrul Islam for making “defamatory comments” against him.Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Kaiser Kamal issued the legal notice to the minister on behalf of the BNP leader and sent it through post office and courier service (SA paribahan).
Kaiser Kamal said, “Withdraw the defamatory comments or apologize to Tarique before public within 15 days. Otherwise, legal measures will be taken against him.”
As per the notice, Quoting Quamrul Islam, Daily Samakal published a report headlined ‘Tarique plotting to oust government staying in abroad’ on May 26 and Daily Ittefaq also published another report headlined ‘Tarique went to abroad on parole, the parole period is over’.
The minister has to proof his remark; otherwise legal steps would be taken against him, he added.
Earlier on May 27, Tarique Rahman sent a legal notice to Environment and Forest Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud for making “defamatory comments” against him. .(Banglanews24.com)
