Some miscreants murdered a tea garden laborer of a tea garden in the district on late Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Gupal Banika, 35, in Sagornal tea garden of Juri upazila in Moulvibazar district. Confirming the incident, Juri police station Officer-in-Charge Md. Mahbubur Rahman told this correspondent. “A gang of miscreants hit him with lethal weapons and left.” On information, police recovered the body and sent it to morgue for autopsy.
Police suspected that the victim might have been tortured in somewhere. The motive behind the killing will be clear after tracing the man who rushed the victim to hospital, the OC said.
