Terrorism, killings, subversive activities to be uprooted: RAB DG

Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed today said terrorism and subversive activities have been reduced in the country as the law enforcers took action against them.The DG made this comment while talking to newsmen at Mymensingh circuit house this evening.He said the people of the country are the key forces, so that the terrorism, killings and subversive activities will be uprooted with the joint efforts of the government and the people of the country.Benazir stressed the need for building strong resistance against terrorism and anarchy to save the lives and properties of the people as well as peace and progress of the country. In this regard the law enforcers are working relentlessly, said DG.While responding to a question regarding the progress of blogger Avijit Roy’s murder case the DG said that Detective Branch (DB) is interrogating blogger Shafiur Rahman Farabi. The DB is also investigating the case. He hoped that miscreants involved with the murder will be arrested.Deputy Commissioner Mostakim Billah Faruqui, Commanding officer RAB 14 Rafiqul Islam, Police Super Moinul Haque and other officials of law enforcing agencies were present.Earlier the DG exchanged views with district administration, Police and RAB about law and order situation in the district, sources said. -BSS, Mymensingh
