A BRAC Bank Manager was taken on custody and sent to jail for alegedly
tourturing his wife and demanding dawry, under the order of Bogra
women and children repression controll tribunal-2 on July 04, Thursday
morning when he and his two brothers appared before the court.
After hearing the case the Court sent the main accused Golam Mostafa
to Jail and granted bail for his two brothers.
Case statement told that the accused Golam Mostafa, 37, son late
Mojibur Rahman of West Singra of Adamdhigi upazila pof Bogra district
and Manager of Gouripur branch under Comilla district.
The case in brief is that he married on August 08, 2011 Shahida Akhtar
Moni, 21, daughter of Safiuddin Palowan of Kalaikuri village under
Adamdhigi upazila of the district as third wife and had been torturing
her for dowry which he used to do in the case of previous two wives
whom he left allegedly for dowry.
The case records show that finally on September 21, 2012 the accused
and his brothers tortured her brutally and at a stage she was brought
back by her father. He went to lodge a case with the police station.
Being refused by the police station he filed a case in the women and
children repression contoroll tribunal-2 on October 16, 2012 accusing
her husband and his two brothers Dholu Mia and Bayejid Mia (case no-
343P/12) of torture for dowry.
Victim’s father said that they wanted to see true justice from the
court for his daughter.
