Two drug traffickers were arrested with 21 kilogram smuggled ganja
from Jamtola point on the Rangpur-Dhaka Highway under Pirganj upazila
here on Monday, police said.
The arrested drug traffickers are Abdul Alim alias Dukhu Mian, 19, son
of Akkas Ali and Mofasser, 20, son of Akkel Ali of village Dhonigala
under Nageswari upazila in Kurigram district.
On a tip off, a special police squad from Pirganj Thana challenged a
Bogra-bound microbus from Nageswari and arrested them red-handed with
the ganja. Police also seized the microbus.
After filing a case in this connection, the arrested persons were
produced before a Rangpur court today from where they were sent to the
jail hajat, Officer-in-Charge of Pirganj Thana Zahedur Rahman
Chowdhury told BSS this noon.
