Police arrested two alleged terrorists in possession of 18 pieces of
Yaba tablet and two powerful hand bombs from Bejpara area in the
district town early Wednesday.
The arrested persons were identified as Pervez, son of Abdur Rashid,
and Sheikh Shovon, son of Delwar Hossain of the area.
Police said on secret information a team of police led by
Sub-inspector Shoyeb Uddin Ahmed of Kotwali Police Station raided the
house of Pervez and arrested him at about 1:15am. Later, they
recovered 18 pieces of Yaba tablet from the house.
Pervez has been involved in trading Yaba since long, police said.
Following his confessional statement, police later raided the house of
Sheikh Shovon of the area and arrested Shovon and recovered two hand
bombs from there.
However, four to five associates of Shovon associates managed to flee
the scene sensing the presence of the law enforcers.
Two cases were filed against Pervez under the Narcotics Control Act
and Shovon under the Explosive Substances Act. -UNB, Jessore
