Two persons including a freedom fighter were killed in separate road
accidents in Monirampur and Abhaynagar upazilas of the district on
Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as freedom fighter Lokman Hossain
Talukder, 64, son of late Motaher Talukder in Titashkathi-Mulgram area
in Pirojpur district and tea seller Abul Hossain Sheikh, 45, at
Ektarpur village in Abhaynagar upazila under Jessore district.
The first accident occurred when a motorcycle rider Lokman Hossain
collided-head-on with a brick laden truck at Hazrakathi-Beltola Akota
brick kiln area under Monirampur upazila, leaving him dead on the
spot.
The second accident occurred when a Khulna bound truck hit Abul
Hossain in Noapara Bazar area while he was returning home. Abul died
on the spot, police and hospital sources said.
Two separate cases were filed with Monirampur and Abhaynagar police
