At least two people have been killed and several others injured in a stampede at a Waz Mahfil (religious congregation) in Sylhet.Police said the victims were crushed under the feet of other devotees when they scrambled to collect food distributed at the Mahfil in Zakiganj.Sylhet District’s Additional Superintendent of Police Sugyan Chakma said the incident occurred at around 9pm at Balai Haor where Fultali Isal-e-Sawab Mahfil was organised.The Mahfil was arranged on the occasion of the ninth death anniversary of Maulana Abdul Latif Fultali.Over 100,000 people attended the programme, Sugyan said.bdnews24.com
