Two sons of Wahed Mansion owner on remand

Dhaka, April 8 – A Dhaka court on Monday granted seven days’ remand to two sons of Wahed Mansion’s owner in a case lodged by a local resident over the deadly fire in the Old Dhaka’s Chawkbazar area.
Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order on Monday.
Earlier, Chawkbazar Police Station Inspector Moradul Islam produced the accused in the court seeking a 10-day remand for each accused.
On February 20, the devastating fire broke out in Old Dhaka’s Chawkbazar area, that caused the lives of 70 people. Later, a local dweller Asif filed the case with Chawkbazar Model Police Station against the two accused and 10/12 others. – Court Correspondent
