The Rajshahi Bagmara unit Awami League on Friday welcomed a Jamaat leader to its ranks with garlands.
The new entrant to the AL was Maulana Nurul Islam, he secretary of Bagmara Upazila Jamaat.
Addressing a press conference he told reporters that he joined the AL with his followers imbued with its ideology as he liked it.Nurul Islam joined the ruling party with over one hundred of his followers. Leaders of Bagmara upazila and Maria Union welcomed them with garlands.
Senior vice president of upazila AL Motiur Rahman called upon the newly enrolled members to work by accepting the ideology of the party.
He said that there are many good people in Jamaat and Nurul Islam was taken in the party ranks after taking information about him.
Nurul Islam is a teacher of Bhabaniganj Madrasha and acted as upazila secretary for a long time.
Upazila Jamaat ameer Sirajuddin however said they had no political relationships with Nurul Islam for one year. – News Desk
