USA to help BD police in curbing terrorism in Bangladesh

Dhaka – United States of America (USA) will help Bangladesh police to enhance its capability and also both the police and the USA will work together in curbing terrorism in Bangladesh.The assurance was given in a meeting between Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shahidul Hoque and a 5-member US delegation led by visiting American Diplomatic Security Assistant Secretary Gregory Starr at Police Headquarters on Wednesday. US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat was included in the US delegates.
During the meeting, the US delegates praised Bangladesh police for its overall security measures to face global and local terrorism. They also lauded its commendable role in providing security to the US diplomats, including other foreign nationals, said Senior Information officer of Police headquarters AKM Kamrul Ahsan..
Both sides agreed to widen the field of mutual interest along with continuing its existing cooperation, he said.
Senior officials of Police Headquarters, including DIG (Ops) Barrister Mahbubur Rahman, Dig (Crime) Md Humayun Kabir were present.
