Verdict disappoints people: Tuku

State Minister for Home Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku on Tuesday said the verdict against Jamaat leader Quader Mollah disappointed people of the country.

“I personally expected capital punishment but the verdict has disappointed the people of the country who believe in spirit of liberation war,” he said.

The Awami League leader came up with the observation in a reaction immediate after verdict pronounced against Quader Mollah by International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2.

However, he urged all to keep respects to the verdict.

In a response to Wednesday’s hartal called by Jamaat he said, “It is unacceptable and abhorrent that Jamaat is enforcing today’s hartal and will enforce tomorrow.”banglanews24.com
