The Supreme Court will deliver its final verdict on the life sentence awarded to Jamaat e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Abdul Quader Molla on today.The coordinator of the prosecution teams of International Crimes Tribunals, MK Rahman, confirmed journalists that the court will judge both the appeals filed by the convict and by the prosecution regarding the sentence.
On July 23, after hearing both the parties on their appeals filed against and for the life sentence, the top court said it would announce the judgment any day.
It took over five and a half months since Molla was sentenced to life term in prison by ICT for the court to complete hearing the appeals.
The five-strong Appellate Division bench, headed by Chief Justice Md Muzammel Hossain, has kept the verdict pending.-bdnews24.com
