Warrant against Kader Siddiqui in MK Alamgir libel case

A Dhaka court on Tuesday issued warrant of arrest against Krishak Sramik Janata League president Kader Siddiqui in a defamation case for calling former Minister MK Alamgir a ‘Razakar’.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Masud Sheikh passed the order as Kader Siddiqui, after securing bail in the libel suit, did not appear before the court defying its orders.In the same order, the court also asked the complainant of the libel suit to appear in person before it on December 11 and explain why his suit should not be rejected.
In its order, the court also observed that the complainant has remained absent time and again since the filing of his complaint.
On February 19 last year, National Freedom Fighters Foundation general secretary Ruhul Amin Majumder filed the libel suit against Kader Siddiqui for his remarks against former minister MK Alamgir.
According to the complaint, Kader Siddiqui at a discussion meeting in Dhaka on September 2, 2012 alleged that it was not possible to try the war criminals keeping ‘Razakar Home Minister MK Alamgir’ in office. – UNB
