Will today’s youth save the world?

The world has known about the dual crises of climate change and over-exploitation of natural resources since the 1970’s. Action has been slow in coming, but many say that we are entering a transition period towards sustainability in the areas of energy, manufacturing, food production and urban systems. But to make the changes necessary in this century will require a tidal wave of new talent and energy from today’s youth to accelerate the transition in order to achieve the goal of sustainability in their lifetimes.
Worldwatch is undertaking a project to inspire college students to seek careers in the exciting new fields of sustainability across many sectors.
