A day-long workshop to form Women Development Forum consisting of elected women representatives in UP and municipality level with a view to increasing awareness and skill was held at Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Wednesday July 03. At 10 am Deputy Commissioner of Narail Md. Zahurul Haque inaugurated the workshop as chief guest. Chaired by UNO sadar Shah Abdul Saadi the workshop was addressed by Khulna divisional director of local government ministry Md. Abdul Hannan Biswas as chief discussant. It was addressed, among others, by sadar upazila chairman Sharif Humayun Kabir, its vice chairman Salma Rahman Kobita and Belal Ahmed. The speakers discussed how to address to UZGP project, the role of the projects in women empowerment, aims of Women Development Forum and activities of it.
Later, sadar upazila Women Development Forum consisting of 11 members was formed through election.
Salma Rahman Kobita and Naznin Sultana Rozy were elected president and general secretary of the forum respectively.
The other office bearers are Rehena Parvin (vice president) and the executive committee members were Piary Begum, Kanon Bala Biswas, Anima Roy, Shefali Begum, Nasima Begum, Rikta Rani and Taslima Begum.
