Dhaka – A sand lifting worker went missing as a boat capsized in the Mahananda river of Diyardhainagar Dakhshinchora area of Sadar upazila in Chapainawabganj on Friday while he was lifting sand along with three other co-workers.The missing worker was Ibrahim, son of Jahiuddin, a resident of Ranibarichandpur village in Chakkirti union of Shibganj upazila.Asadur Rahman Mannu Miah, Gobratola union parishad chairman, said that the boat sank in the river around 11:00 am while four workers were lifting sand.Ibrahim went missing after the incident while others managed to swim ashore.On information, a diver team came to the spot around 1:00 pm and continued rescue operation till 8:00 pm but could not trace the missing.However, the rescue drive will be resumed on Saturday morning, said diver Nurun Nabi, leader of the diver team.UNB news agency
