A day long awareness workshop on national skills development
policy-2011 was held at Narsingdi Polytechnic Institute here Yesterday
Monday.
The workshop was organised by National Skills Development Parishad
with the assistant of international Labour organization(ILO),
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) with a view to
aware the people, the vision, mission and objectives of the National
Skill development policy -2011
Chief Instructure of Narsingdi Polytechnic institute Mahabubor Rahman
delivered the welcome speech on National Skills Development policy
-2011 in the workshop.
Chief Executive officer of National skills development Council(NSDC)
Jiban Kumar chowdhury addressed the workshop as the chief guest. he
also made the multimedia presentation on National skills Development
Policy-2011 in the workshop.
With the chair of Principal, Narsingdi polytechnic Institute Sushil
Kumar Paul the workshop was addressed among others by Police Super
Narsingdi Khandaker Mohid uddin, civil surgeon Rashid Ahamed, Nirbahi
officer Narsingdi Sadar upazla Venisa Rodrigues and Programme officer
TVET Reform project, ILO, Dhka Kabir Miah.
A total of 100 participants including owners of Local factories and
industries, Principals of different Technical Institutes, NGO
representatives, Principals of different collages and schools and
journalists were took part in the workshop.
Terming the youths community as the main driving force of the society
the chief gust Jibon Kumar Chowdhury emphasized the need for creating
awareness and publicity among the people on the importance of skill
training. He said country’s development depends on the skills workman,
for this skill development on technical education is needed for
national development.
He said if the target group casn be given skill technical education
they would bring welfare for the society and that will help contribute
for making Digital Bangladesh. – Our Correspondent
