A youth yesterday hurled a brick bat and shouted abusive words at Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office despite tight security ring around the building by law enforcers including police and plainclothes security personnel.
The man identified as Poran Sarker hurled the brick bat at about 1:45pm and later the police from the Detective Brach took him to the custody.Shyrul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP chairperson’s media wing, said he escaped narrowly from getting hurt as the brick bat hit a wall inside the building.
Officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station Rafiqul Islam confirmed the incident saying that the man responsible was in their custody.
“We are trying to find out whether he was mentally deranged by questioning him.”
