Detective Branch (DB) of police in separate drives arrested two alleged drug peddlers in possession of 1,590 ampoules of pethidine injection and 25 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from separate places in the city on Wednesday.Assistant commissioner of Detective Branch of police Iftekhayer Alam said on a tip-off, a team of DB police conducted a drive in No. 1 Rail Station gate area and arrested Naimul Islam, a resident of Nachole upazila of Chapainawabganj district, along with 1,590 ampoules of pethidine injection at about 1:00 pm.
The team conducted another drive in Shiroil Bus Stand area and arrested one Mehdi Hasan along with 25 bottles of Phensidyl syrup at about 2:00 pm. Separate cases were filed. -UNB, Rajshahi
