Joint forces in a drive arrested two people along with 45 crude bombs and 4.5 kg
gunpowder in Binodpur area of the city on Monday morning.
Of the arrestees, one was identified as Shahjahan,50, councillor of ward no. 29 of the city
and an accused in the police constable Siddhartha murder case.
Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Motihar police station, said joint forces in a drive
arrested Shahjahan and one of his cohorts and recovered the crude bombs and gunpowder
from their possession in the area around 7:30am.
Later, they were handed over to Motihar police.
Meanwhile, police on Sunday night recovered four crude bombs and half a litre petrol in
an abandoned condition near Rajshahi University railway station. -UNB
