Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two young men along with huge illegal equipment of voice over internet protocol (VoIP) from the city’s Ujir Dighir Par on Friday night.
The arrestees were identified as Ashequr Rahman Mushtaue, 28, son of Habibullah, and Abbasuddin, son of Muhibur Rahman of Jaintapur of Sylhet.
Tipped off, a team of Rab-11 conducted a drive at the house of Abdur Rashid in the area around 8pm and recovered 8 VoIP gateway machines, three computers, one laptop, one IPS and 8,000 SIMs of different operators from the spot, said Major Shahed Hasan Rajib, commanding officer of Crime Prevention Company-2.
Later, the elite force members arrested the two men from the house. -UNB, Comilla
