3 of a family die in Dhaka’s Buriganga River boat capsize

Keraniganj, Jan 26 -Three members of a family died and a minor went missing as a boat capsized in the Buriganga River on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Motiur Rahman Moti, 55, his wife Rozina Begum, 42, and Momtaz Begum, 50.
Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of Sadarghat River Police Station, said the boat, carrying four members of a family, sank in the river after being hit by a launch, ‘MV-Manik’, around 10:30pm, leaving them missing.
The bodies of Rozina and Momtaz were retrieved from the river around midnight while that of Moti around 9am on Saturday, the OC said.
Moti’s son Abid, 5, remained missing till filing the report about 11:11 am. – UNB
