A district court on Sunday sent to jail 36 BNP leaders and activists in a violence case in Sadar upazila in November last year.
Judge of the Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court, Benapole, Maruf Ahmed passed the order when the BNP men surrendered before the court, seeking bail in the case.The court sources said some BNP leaders and activists torched several shops and vehicles after vandalising those and blasted bombs at Churamankathi Bazar in Sadar upazila on November 27, 2013.
Later, two people — Faruque Hossain and Alam — of the area filed the case against 45 people with Jessore Kotwali Police Station in connection with the incident. – UNB
